Thank You for your service  / Bob Jones (colleague)
Nelson was a colleague for several decades. He was honest, dedicated and totally committed to protecting and preserving the commercial fishing in blue water. His knowledge of his segement of the fishing industry and his ability to work with competing interests saved the day for many of those who are still in the business. He will e missed by all who knew him.

On behalf of all the members of the Southeastern Fisheries Association, I send our deepfest sympathy to the Beideman family and all his friends. May his soul and the souls of all the faithfully departedd, Rest In Peace.

A tribute to Hammer  / Rod Moore (Colleague)
Nelson was a fighter; all of us in the seafood industry knew that.  Whenever or wherever a problem arose, we could count on Nelson standing shoulder to shoulder with the rest of us, trying to ensure that those who make their living from the sea would not be cast onto rocky shores.  Yes, he could be stubborn, he could make people angry and frustrated, but that was part of his plain-spoken, honest nature.  His untimely death is a loss not only to his friends and family, but to every one of us who worked with him over the years protecting the life he loved.

Goodbye, Nelson - and as the song says, we'll all see you someday in Fiddler's Green.
A unique man with a kind heart and a keen mind  / Ann M. Bell (friend)
My husband Wesley and I wish to extend our sincere condolences to Terry, Ben and Justin on the passing of Nelson Beideman.
All those who knew him had to be touched by his kindness and intelligence.  It was a pleasure to know him and an honor to be amongst those who called him a friend.
He will be sorely missed by those who relied on his expertise and his imprint will be felt for a very long time.  Carry on Terry - we're here with big shoulders, when you need us.  Ann & Marianne, Travel Emporium
My deepest condolences  / Steve Berkeley
Dear Terri,

I was shocked to hear about Nelson's untimely death. Even though we often fought like alley cats over swordfish management issues, he was impossible not to like and deeply respect. The world in general and the fishing world in particular is much the poorer today. Please accept my sincere condolences.
Condolence / John Watson (Friend and colleague )
Terri, Ben, and Justin,

My heart goes out to you in the sudden and unexpected loss of your life's companion and father.  I just want you to know that  Nelson was a very special man, and his dedication to his chosen profession was like few others I have seen.  I first met Nelson at meetings concerning the future of  the longline fishery and had the privilege of  workiing with  him on the NED and project which very successful due to the untiring efforts of Nelson and Terri.  The work was a highlight in my career and it would not have been possible without Nelson's efforts.  I cannot image the impact of his loss for the industry he loved.  If there is anything I can do at this difficult time for you please do not hesitate to let me know.  I will be praying for you  as you pass through these difficult days and the future.  Know that Nelson was admired for his dedication and tireless efforts and will be missed.

John
